Mrs. Evelyn Lena Queen, age 87, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Monday, August 8, 2011 in the Heritage Health Care Center in Blue Ridge. Mrs. Queen was born in Kentucky on December 21, 1923 to the late Arthur Ballew and Lillie Mamie Queen Ballew. She was a member of Mobile Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Morris Queen; and her siblings, Gladys Carter, Harold Ballew, and Maxine Johnson. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Queen of Epworth, GA and Larry Queen and Marsha Queen of Covington, GA; daughters and sons Barbara Queen Cheatham and Steve Cheatham of Epworth; Carol Green and Lennie Green of Epworth; brothers, Joe Ballew of Marietta, GA, Benny Ballew of Eatonton, GA, Ronnie Ballew of Blue Ridge, and Sam Ballew of Cumming, GA; sisters, Frances Pack of McCaysville, and Kay Carter of Smyrna, GA; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Chad Cheatham officiating. Music was by Doug Simonds. Pallbearers were Robbie Cheatham, Eric Thompson, Jeremy Green, Kerry Hicks, Jamie Queen, Caylib Thompson, Gavin Thompson, Logan Cheatham, Brody Cheatham, and Nolan Hicks. Honorary pallbearers were the employees and staff of Heritage Health Care Center, Roy Conner, and Butch Anderson. Interment followed in Mobile Cemetery.
