Mrs. Evelyn Davenport Platt, age 68, of Morganton, GA who passed away on Sunday February 7, 2010. Born in Fannin County, GA she was the daughter of the late Luther and Bertha Couch Davenport. She retired from Levi Strauss as a machine operator. Evelyn was a longtime member of the New Antioch Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of twenty nine years, Robert "Bob" Platt of the home; brother, Jim Davenport of Blue Ridge, GA; sisters, Pauline Robinson of Blue Ridge, GA, Alice Pope of Ellijay, GA and Joyce Adams of Blue Ridge, GA; many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday February 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the New Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Thrasher officiating. Music was provided by the New Antioch Church Choir. Interment followed in the Church Cemetery with Rev. Michael Pope officiating. The following nephews served as pallbearers: Jim Robinson, Harold Robinson, Michael Pope, Billy Davenport, Shannon Adams, Zachery Adams, Matthew Davenport, Greg Ledford, Darrell Stewart, and Larry Fox.
