Eva Kirby Farner, age 84, of Brevard, NC, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2007 in the Ivy Hill Retirement Center in Brevard, NC. Born in Polk County, TN on April 11, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Letcher Lee and Effie Rose Kimsey. She was a retired postal clerk from the United States Postal Service. Mrs. Farner was a member of the Turtletown Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ike Farner.She was survived by one son, Gary Lynn Farner of Cleveland, TN; two daughters, Kathy Raxter of Pisgah Forest, NC and Roseanne McGee of Cleveland, TN; two brothers, Don Kimsey of Turtletown, TN and Lloyd Kimsey of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Joann Davis of McCaysville, GA and Janelle Kimsey McGee of Copperhill, TN; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Music was by Beverly Kimsey. Pallbearers were Eric Padgett, Chris Padgett, Kenton Kimsey, Steve Kimsey, John Kimsey and Joel Pennington. Interment followed in the Turtletown Baptist Church Cemetery.
