Ervin Carlton "Van" Vandiver, age 88, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Northside Cherokee Hospital in Canton. He was born on August 19, 1934, in Dial, to the late Ronnie C. Vandiver and Blanche Brawley Vandiver. Ervin served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Later, he retired from the City of Atlanta, where he worked in Water Pollution Control. He was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed joking and bringing cheer to those he knew. Ervin impacted his community and will be remembered for always lending a helping hand to his neighbors. He enjoyed taking daily bicycle rides through the Blue Ridge Village, where he resided.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Leila Pruitt Vandiver; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Scott Brooks; sister, Annie Faye Gilreath; brother and sister-in-law, Arnold and Lynn Vandiver; nieces, Donna, Glenda, Kathy, and Jennie; numerous other friends and neighbors.
