Hope was born on June 22, 1999. Most of her life was in Tennessee. Hope professed her salvation and was a member of Old Salem Baptist Church in Delano, Tennessee. Sadly, Hope passed away on October 17, 2024.

In her short twenty five years of age, she was the light of our life. She was known for her kindness and generosity. She was a loving and giving person, strong-willed and a hard worker.

To know Hope was to know excitement. So vibrant and out going, yet very protective of her family and friends. Hope was beautiful inside and out. She could make you smile or make you cry. But always wanted to prove her worth. Our beautiful, angelic daughter and friend has passed on to eternity.

Hope is survived by her parents, Britt and Mae Chastain of Blue Ridge, GA; paternal grandmother, Leslie Click of Knox, TN; her true love, CJ Whaley and his family: mother, Carley Kirkpatrick; father, Chris Whaley; grandmother, Andrea Moore; grandmother, Teresa Whaley; brother, Isaiah Whaley; sister, Brooklyn Whaley; and niece, Ja'Laya Whaley all of Cleveland, TN; she is also survived and loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends that are too numerous to list. Hope will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Erica Hope Chastain will forever and always be our baby girl.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Mark Chastain and Rev. David Mashburn officiating. Interment followed in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Eddie Goins, Alvin Findley, Rick Sams, Colt Chastain, Jasen Andru Gill II, and Avery Kephart. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, October 22, from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
