The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces funeral services for Mr. Emory Wallace Arp, Jr. age 74, of Blue Ridge, GA, who passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2012 in Odyssey Hospice in Decatur, GA. He was born in Polk County, TN to the late Emory Wallace Arp Sr. and Anna Womble Arp on February 16, 1937. Mr. Arp retired from Norfolk Southern Railway as a boilermaker and electrician. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Epworth. Survivors include his wife, Korynn C. Arp of Blue Ridge, GA; son, James W. Arp of Blue Ridge, GA; sisters, Sarah Frances West of Lake Charles, LA and Georgia Morris of Savannah, GA; grandchildren, Debi Nichole Hancock and James Matthew Arp; twelve great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Doug Burrell officiating. Music will be by Barbara Cheatham. Pallbearers will be Eric Lackey, Stacey Van Zandt, Michael Morris, James Arp, Steve Cheatham and Jimmy Arp. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Cemetery.
