Emmer Lou Rhodes, age 79, of Marietta, GA, passed away on March 13, 2019 at her residence. Born in Fannin County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Gordon and Lurie Mandy Ann Curtis Cole. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Rhodes enjoyed reading the Bible and talking on the phone with family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Billy Marlin Rhodes; children, Thomas Arklis Rhodes, Douglas Scott Rhodes and Cheryl Sue Rhodes. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Tony and Pat Rhodes of Rockmart, GA, Dwayne and Becky Rhodes of Acworth, GA, Cindy and Robbie Washington of Villa Rica, GA, Pamela Branch of Talking Rock, GA and Paula and Jerry May of Woodstock, GA; brother and sister-in-law, J.T. and Kathryn Cole of OH; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Robert Stepp of Blue Ridge, GA; grandchildren and their spouses, Lindsey and Ray Steward, Angelina and Randy Tucker, Kristina Gentry, Sarah and Chris Lockridge, Natalie Frost, Joseph Fowler, Tyler Branch, Thomas Branch, William Branch, Douglas May, Chastity Smith and Chestley Washington; great grandchildren, Mason Steward, Dixon Steward, Evelyn Tucker, Allysa Tucker, Michael Rhodes, Elijah Gentry, Landon Easterwood, Peyton Easterwood, Oliver Lockridge, Jackson Lockridge, Bailey Fowler, Ashley Fowler, Olivia Waddell, Allysa Waddell, Savannah Waddell, Noah Waddell, Sarah Fain and Silas Fain. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday March 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Anthony Bivins officiating. Music was provided by Teresa Stepp. Interment followed in the Sunrise Tabernacle Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Doug May, Thomas Branch, Tyler Branch, Joseph Fowler, Landon Easterwood and Peyton Easterwood.
