Elsie Claire Harper, age 86, of Dacula, GA, a longtime Buford, GA resident, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013 in the Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, GA. Mrs. Harper was born in November 2, 1926 in Mineral Bluff, GA to the late Clyde Harper and Mary Hunter Harper. She was an avid quilt maker and homemaker who loved her grandchildren. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Suzanne Hughes of Ellijay and Billy and Lynn Hughes of Marietta, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Jimmy Galloway of Duluth, GA, Jane Stanfield an Tom Shallowe of London, England, and Vicky and Bob Howe of Dacula, GA; brothers, Charles Harper of Cleveland, TN and Melvin Harper of Mineral Bluff, GA; sisters, Lillian Bailey of Mineral Bluff, GA and Mary Ellen Baker of Chattanooga, TN; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Bill Johnson officiating. Music was by The Caylor Family. Pallbearers were Bob Howe, Tom Shallowe, Timmy Henson, James Bailey, and Donald Bailey. Interment followed in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
