Ellie Mae Towl Hickey, age 84, of Turtletown, TN, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Copper Basin Health and Rehab. She was born on March 8, 1939, to the late Dolphus Towl and Frances Allen Towl. Ellie was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. She worked for over 26 years for Dollar General. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Hickey; siblings, Don Towl, Ronnie Towl, Jimmie Ruth "Peewee" and Kenneth Boring, Peggy Ledford; and brothers-in-law, Billy Dean Ledford, Gene Ensley, and Oscar "Bane" Dilbeck.

Ellie is survived by her children and their spouses, Tia and Shaun Worthington of Chatsworth, GA, Chuck and Tweetsie Hickey of Turtletown, TN, and Tefanie Hickey of Turtletown, TN; granddaughter, Sydney Hickey of Turtletown, TN; step-grandchildren, Briona Worthington and Ryan Worthington; sisters, Ervlene Dilbeck of Ducktown, Katy Ensley of Blue Ridge, Mary and Ben Ensley of Epworth, GA, and Junell and James Millholland of Morganton, GA; and sister-in-law, Naomi Towl of Farner, TN.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 12:00 PM from the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Ben Ensley officiating. Pallbearers will be Brian Allen, Russell Towl, Troy Dillard, Scott Allen, Tim McArthur, and Trey White. Honorary pallbearers will be Eli White and Michael Black.
