Mrs. Elizabeth White, age 62, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Thursday, December 4, 2008 in the St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Mrs. White was born in Fannin County, GA on August 28, 1946 to the late James Woodrow McVey and Hattie Edna Richards McVey. She was an office manager at Levi Strauss where she was employed for 31 years. She was a member of Damascus Baptist Church. Mrs. White loved reading, needlepoint, and making baby quilts for her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, David A White of Blue Ridge; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah Beth and Bryan Miller of Acworth, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Genise and John Haney of Blue Ridge, and Ruth Ann and Steve Shirley of Bowersville, GA; and a special cousin, Juanita Newman of Rocky Face, GA. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Billy Ray Queen, Rev. Glen Collis, and Rev. Danny Collis officiating. Music was by The Beach Family and Pat Mashburn, and the Barker Family. Pallbearers were David McVey, Kenneth McVey, Eugene White, Paul Richards, Nathan Chancey, and Davis Lewis. Honorary pallbearers were the Deacons of Damascus Baptist Church, members of Damascus Baptist Church, Joe Dan Wilkins, Mitchell Taylor, Markie Taylor, and Dr. Steven Treon. Interment followed in Damascus Church Cemetery. Donations in memory of Mrs. White be made to Damascus Baptist Church c/o Tommy Grindstaff.
