Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Hudson, age 89, of Epworth passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007 in the Heritage Health Care Center in Blue Ridge, GA. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Elsa Abplanalp Bonsall. She was a member of the Blue Ridge United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hudson was a former President of the Women's Club of Broomall, PA, Girl Scout leader, taught art at the Fannin Senior Center, and a member of the Order of The Eastern Star. Betty had worked for the Marple Presbyterian Nursing Home in PA. She was preceded in death by her husband George Hudson.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda J. Haney of Epworth, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas L. and Linda Hudson of Chicago, IL and Chris S. and Lori Hudson of Spring City, PA; brother and sister-in-law, William and Jean Bonsall of Morganton, WV; grandchildren, Shannon Longcore, Josh Hudson, Ryan Hudson, Jo Anne Gilmore, Gail Haney and George "Skip" Haney, Jr.; great grandchildren, Sophia Longcore, Claire Longcore, Thomas Longcore, Emma Hudson, Lisa Gilmore, Amy Gilmore and Gabriel Haney.
Memorial services were conducted on Saturday August 11, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom McElroy and Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Music was by Sonya Lamanac and Melba Akins. For those desiring memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Hudson to the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
