IN LOVING MEMORY OF

November 7, 1944 – May 25, 2025
Elger "Buck" Dale Hickey, age 80, of Epworth, Georgia passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025 in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
He was born on November 7, 1944 in Cherokee County, NC to George Oscar Hickey and Ruby Amanda Almond Hickey. Buck worked for over 25 years as a right-of-way foreman for Tri-State EMC. Buck loved listening to music, his favorites were Johnny Cash and bluegrass. In his spare time, you could often find him woodworking.
He was a very loving and devoted father figure to his sisters. There is no comparison to the man he was or the character he showed. Everyone should have an Uncle Buck in their family.
Buck is preceded in death by his parents, George Oscar and Ruby Amanda Hickey; twin brothers, Clyde and Claude Hickey; brother, Bobby Almond; sister, Dorothy Almond; nephew, Wesley Hickey; nephew, Robert Almond; and brothers-in-law, Rick Walz, Jerry Gaddis, Harvey Bryant, and James Miller.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara Bryant; brother, James "Joe" (Peggy) Hickey; sister, Catherine "Cat" Gaddis; sister, Nancy Miller; sister, Teresa Gaddis; and baby sister, Carrol Hickey with whom he had a special relationship with. She was his caregiver, and they have always lived together. You didn't think of one without thinking of the other. When people would visit it was always "Buck and Carrol's". Niece, Angie (Eddie) Wallace, nephew, Dale (Robin) Bryant; nephew, Jerry "JJ" Gaddis; nephew, Keith Gaddis; niece, Amanda Gaddis Clark; niece, Susan (Jerry) Dickson; great nieces, Ericia (Dylan) Maxwell, Breianna Gaddis, Dycei Newman, and Lakyn Clark; he also leaves behind his darling pets, Little Bit and Rambo.
