Edna Leigh Searles-Breeden, age 78, of Blairsville, GA passed away Monday, January 23, 2017 in the Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville, GA. Ms. Searles-Breeden was born in Mineral Bluff, GA on March 16, 1938 to the late Edgar Bailey and Abalee Dye Bailey. She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother; she adored all children. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Charles Bailey and Doris Bailey Shields. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Robert and Leona Searles of Montana, Valencia and Richard Moon of Washington, and Christopher and Tonya Breeden of Michigan; stepchildren and their spouses, Dean and Penny Breeden of Georgia, Deborah Breeden of Michigan, and Lissa and Mike Schroeder of Michigan; siblings and their spouses, Donna and Bob Hawkins, Glen "Tinker" Bailey, Linda and Rev. Paul Ray Morgan, Wanda and Mike Prince; 7 grandchildren, Joshua Searles, Angel Miller, Kathy Skibba, Elisa Palmer, James Palmer, Thomas Breeden, and Elyse Breeden; 4 great grandchildren, Nichola Searles, Nate Skibba, Lilly Skibba, and Henry Palmer; 3 step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.Funeral services were held Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from New Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Ray Morgan officiating. Pallbearers were Shannon Morgan, Stephen Byers, James Hyatt, Tommy Bailey, Scott Shields, and Chad Anderson. Interment followed in New Liberty Church Cemetery.
