Mr. Edgar Roy Cross, age 82, of Morganton, Ga., died Friday, January 25, 2008. Mr. Cross worked in construction as a Union Carpenter, working out of local union # 225. He was a native of Cherokee County, NC and was the son of the late Benjamin G. Cross and Eva Mae Hughes Cross. He was the husband of the late Eva Sanders Cross of forty five years and was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren.He was survived by daughter and son-in-law, Linda (Cross) and Donnie Willingham of Villa Rica, Ga., daughter, Kathy (Cross) Clark of Morganton, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Stanley R. and Ann Cross of Carrollton, Ga., son, Carl Dewayne Cross of Sweetwater, Tenn., son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Tyechia Cross of Blue Ridge, Ga.; five sisters, Ruth Parker of Dalton, Ga., Edith Quinn, Lucille Baggett, and Louise Voyles all of Calhoun, Ga., and Elouise West of Chatsworth, Ga.; two brothers, Wendell Cross of Mineral Bluff, Ga., and Frances Alvin Cross of Dallas, Ga.; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and eight step- great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Mt. Liberty Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27, with Rev. Lloyd Deal officiating and a eulogy given by Donnie Willingham. Music was by Olen and Helen Walker and Donnie Willingham. Interment followed at Mt. Liberty Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe and Taylor Willingham, Cody Cross, Stanley Cross II, Danny Gower and George Ensley. Honorary pallbearer was Leroy Dillard.
