The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces funeral services for Mr. Earl Lee Cantrell, age 77, of Blue Ridge, GA, who passed away Friday, April 17, 2009 in the Fannin Regional Hospital. Born in Cobb County, GA on August 18, 1931 and was the son of the late Henderson and Anna Lee Bannister Cantrell. Mr. Cantrell was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the United States Army. He was a Farmer and Butcher for many years. Mr. Cantrell was a member of the Harvest Baptist Church in Smyrna, GA. Survivors include his wife of forty-eight years, Dorothy A. Cantrell of the home; niece and spouse, Suzanne and Ben Butterworth; nephews and spouses, Mike and Lauren Cantrell and Doug and Wanda Starkey; great nephew and spouse, Travis and Heather Butterworth; great niece, Jessica Butterworth; great-great niece, Hope Butterworth; many nieces, nephews; many great nieces, nephews; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, John and Tammy Taylor, Sadie and Timmy Sullens, Margaret and Don Ledford, Cathy Oakley, Harvey and Wanda Taylor, Floyd and Joan Taylor, Michael and Becky Taylor, Glenda Nace, Violet Brown, Carol Moore; many cousins and other relatives also survive.Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel in Blue Ridge, GA with Rev. Tim Sullens officiating. Music will be by Christina Sullens. Pallbearers will be John Taylor, Harvey Taylor, Travis Butterworth, Josh Taylor, Dolores Rosas, Timothy Sullens, Floyd Taylor and Caleb Taylor. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. from the Kennesaw Memorial Park, Marietta, GA.
