Mr. Edwin "Dwaine" Payne, age 53, of Turtletown, TN passed away on August 6, 2016 surrounded by his family. Born in Polk County, TN he was the son of the late Lloyd Harrison Payne. He served his country in the United States Army where he was of the Big Red One 1st Infantry Division Mechanized and 1st Cohort division. Dwaine was a member of Croft's Chapel Methodist Church. He was a master mechanic for several years but most recently he worked as a Lineman for Power Secure.Survivors include his children, Lindsay Payne, Drew Harrison Payne (Sarah) all of Turtletown, TN and Mallory Sisson (Eric) of Ooltewah, TN; parents, Kathy and Bob Carruth of Turtletown, TN; sisters, Sonya Talley (Dennis) of Copperhill, TN, Angela Blalock and Judy Carruth both of Chattanooga, TN, and Stephanie Foster ( Jeremy Collis) of Turtletown, TN, grandchildren, Willard Leighton Brown, Carter James Johnson and Elsa Grace Payne; and a number of other relatives and friends.Memorial Services were conducted on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Harper, Rev. Josh Ledford and Rev. Brad Ledford officiating. Music was provided by Drew Payne, Lindsay Payne, Sherry Smith, Janice Reid, and Beverly Kimsey.
