Dr. Billy "Bill" G. Crouch, DDS, age 80, of Copperhill, TN passed away on September 25, 2017 following an extended illness. He was born in Armathwaite, TN to the late Willard Crouch. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. Dr. Crouch attended Austin Peay State University and later graduated from the University of Tennessee at Memphis College of Dentistry. He moved to the Copper Basin and began his Dental practice in 1963 and retired some forty years later in the community he loved. He was a wonderful supporter of Athletics in the Copper Basin Area, served on the Polk County School Board and the Township Commission. Dr. Crouch was a member and had served as deacon with the First Baptist Church of McCaysville/ Copperhill. Later in life, he became an avid and talented Wood Carver. Tragically, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Martha Ann Crouch. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Helen Taylor Crouch of the home; sons, Keith Crouch of Copperhill, TN and David and Ginger Crouch of Old Fort, TN; mother, Maxine Crouch of Jamestown, TN; brother, Roger Keith Crouch of Washington, D.C, and two grandchildren, Trent Crouch and Emma Crouch. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel in Copperhill, TN with the Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating. Congregational music will be led by Ryan Norton. A private interment will follow at a later date in the Crestlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Dr. Crouch to the Athletic Program of your choice.
