Douglas Wayne Mashburn, age 77, of Farner, TN passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 in Chatsworth, GA. Mr. Mashburn was born on May 13, 1944 in Gastonia, NC. He was of the Church of God faith and served as a volunteer fire fighter in East Polk. He was preceded in death by his father, Pearlie Jackson Mashburn; his mother, Dora Lou Allen Mashburn Craig; brothers, Clarence Mashburn, Alvin Mashburn, and Ulyss Paul Mashburn; sister, Ola Mae Mashburn; and stepfather, Thomas Craig. Mr. Mashburn is survived by his wife, Minnie Hicks Mashburn of Farner, TN; children, Delena Jo Mashburn of Chattanooga, TN, Pearly (Catheline) Mashburn of Farner, Stacey Eugene (Gail Elizabeth) Mashburn of Chatsworth, GA, Jesse Andrew Mashburn of Chatsworth, Jeffrey Scott Mashburn of Farner, TN, and Amanda Gail (Joshua) Perkins of Farner; special friend, Senia Mashburn of Benton, TN; brother, Gary Christopher Mashburn of Burchwood, TN, sister, Margaret Farner of Farner; 12 grandchildren, Carla Taylor, Michael Mashburn, A.J. Massey, Kisha Desherlia, William Mashburn, Casey Mashburn, Joshua Mashburn, Katie Mashburn, Hunter Mashburn, Elizabeth Hawkins, Sarah Hawkins, and Trenton Perkins; great grandchildren, Jaden Taylor, Chase Taylor, Leland Taylor, Landon Taylor, Jazzmine Taylor, Makenna Mashburn, Ashton Mashburn, Hannah Desherlia, Kesley Desherlia, Bethany Desherlia, Hogan Desherlia, and Sophie Massey. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Mitchell Allen and Rev. Steve Dills officiating. Music will be by Tony Wooten. Grandsons Joshua Mashburn, Michael Mashburn, Hunter Mashburn, A.J. Massey, William Mashburn, and Casey Mashburn will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Taylor and Jeff Desherlia. Interment will follow in Brock Cemetery.
