Dorothy Ellison Tumlin, age 88 passed away on Tuesday July 19, 2011 at her home. Born in Little Rock, AR she was the daughter of the late Roy, Sr. and Cleo Clift Ellison. She graduated from the University of West Georgia with a bachelor's degree in Sociology. She later retired from the state of Georgia as an employment counselor. Mrs. Tumlin is a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Newton Tumlin and one brother, Leroy Ellison, Jr. Survivors include three daughters and two son-in-laws, Ellen T. and Eddy White of Cherry Log, GA Jennie Visscher of Marietta, GA and Ann and Phil Carnes of Los Angeles, CA; one grandchild, Emma LiYing White. Memorial services will be conducted on Friday July 22, at 2:00 p.m. from the St. Luke's Episcopal Church with Rev. Victor Morgan officiating.
