Dorothy Joann Farmer, age 70, of Ellijay, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. Mrs. Farmer was born on June 21, 1951 in Fannin County to the late James Gordon Parr and the late Flossie Carolyn Green Parr. She worked as a certified nursing assistant at Pruitt Health. She enjoyed travelling and shopping. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Bobby Parr, Joe Parr, Larry Parr, John Parr, and Bill Parr. She is survived by her children, Greg Farmer, Regina Farmer, and Angela Farmer; sisters, Carolyn Krohn and Joyce Parr; brothers, Sam Parr, and Gary Parr; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members. The funeral for Mrs. Farmer was held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. John Baker officiating. Interment followed in the Barnes Chapel Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Matt Farmer, Adam Farmer, Madison Pressley, Kurt Spradlin, Randy Gray, and Joseph Foster.
