Dorothy Irene Gibson Dunn, age 84, of Ducktown, formerly of Dalton, GA, passed away Friday, June 15, 2018. Dorothy was born in Turtletown, TN to the late Taft and Lucy Loudermilk Gibson. She was retired as a Librarian with the Dalton/Whitfield County Library and was of the Baptist Faith. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Leon Gibson, Leo "Pete" Gibson, Sally Jones, Effie Gibson, Cleaston Gibson and Danny Gibson. She is survived by stepchildren, Richard Dunn, Marilyn (Garry) Fitzpatrick, along with three grandchildren. Her special nephew, Victor (Danette) Gibson. Many other relatives and friends survive. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Renny Whittenbarger officiating. Interment will follow in the Freewitt cemetery.
