Doris Jean Watson, better known as "Jeanie", age 71, of Epworth, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at her home. She was born on June 25, 1953 in Copperhill, Tennessee to the late W.C. "Claude" Patterson and Hildred Irene Rhodes Patterson. Jeanie was devoted in the Baptist faith, and a long-time member of Hipps Chapel Church, where she served for many years as the pianist.She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Beulah Chapter in McCaysville, Georgia. Jeanie worked as a beautician for over fifty years, and enjoyed the time spent with her clients, making them feel and look their best.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Daniel Watson; daughter and son-in-law, Veronica Watson Clement (Jon); granddaughter, Mylee Jordan Clement; brother, Carl Edward Patterson (Jen Stanley) sister-in-law, Martha Breeden; niece, Dana Sue Breeden; nephew, Joe Breeden; a host of other family and dear friends.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport and Rev. Scott Baugh officiating. Special music was provided by Diana Odom, Liz Bice, Carol Watkins, Althea Davenport, and Brenda Patterson. Interment followed in the Hipps Chapel Church Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Joe Breeden, Jason Postell, Derrick Postell, Zeke McPherson, Arnold Postell, and George Watkins. Serving as honorary pallbearers were: Jack Postell, Charlie Thomas, Jimmy Davenport, David Postell, John Postell, and Donnie Callihan. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening, March 29, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
