Doris Jean Smith Ramsey, age 85, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away on May 5, 2024 in Gainesville, GA. She was born in Mineral Bluff, GA to the late Jess Burton and Elizabeth Swanson Smith on December 18, 1938. She retired from Levis Strauss after many years of service. Doris was of the Baptist Faith, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Anthony Lee Smith; grandson, Jacob Wyatt Ramsey; and siblings, Edith Bell Wilson, Gilbert Smith, J.B. Smith, Joel Smith and Billy Smith.

Survivors include daughter, Elizabeth Ramsey and spouse George Greene; son, Robert Ramsey all of Blue Ridge, GA;step-daughter, Teena Hughes; grandchildren, Jesse Lee Smith, Derek Ramsey, Maggie Ramsey, Thrice Ferguson, Xander Ramsey, Ava Lee Ramsey, Kurk and Molly Conklin, Anthony Greene, Kayla Greene and Kelsey Greene; great grandchildren, Job Conklin and Presley Conklin; sister, Alma "Sally" Brown; daughter-in-law, Barbara Caulder; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Eric Davenport and Rev. Ronnie Ray officiating. The following gentlemen were selected to serve as honorary pallbearers: Kurk Conklin, Jesse Smith, Derek Ramsey, Thrice Ferguson, Xander Ramsey, George Greene and Jerry Hawkins. The family  visited with friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Jones-Swanson Family Cemetery at a later date.
