Doris Elaine Womble Gibson, age 88, of Ducktown, TN, entered into the arms of Jesus on Friday, March 8, 2019, after a long and brave battle with cancer. Doris was a loving and devoted mother and wife, mother-in-law, sister and daughter. She was known for her beautiful, hand-stitched quilts and flower gardens. She enjoyed all kinds of handiwork around the house, especially painting, wall-papering, and building projects. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carmel Gibson, her parents, Jerry Womble and Lula Edna Runion Coleman Womble, sisters Judith Deryl (Tootsie) Womble Nelson, Martha Dean (Footsie) Womble Sisson, and brothers, Spencer Coleman and J.C. (Lola)Coleman, and Dick Womble, nephew, Danny Coleman, and niece, Jeannie Coleman Newsome. She is survived by her daughter Jeri Gail Gibson (Charles) Whitworth of Evans, GA, brothers, Joe (Louise) Womble of Atlanta, GA, and Edwin Womble and friend Richard Sedgwick of Llano, CA, brother-in-law, Bazelle (Elsie) Nelson of Ducktown, TN, several nieces and nephews.
