Donnie Cochran, age 68, of Blue Ridge, Georgia passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025 in Canton, Georgia.

Donnie was born on October 31, 1956, in Dalton, Georgia, to the late James Otis Cochran and Retha Victoria Watson Cochran. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Donnie was known for his incredible skill as a carpenter, working many years in the trade.

Above all, Donnie was a family man. He cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren, who lovingly knew him as "Paw Paw." He brought warmth, laughter, and love to everyone around him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Roger Cochran, Norman Cochran, Robert Cochran, and Ronnie Cochran; sister-in-law, Linda Cochran; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, John "Bud" and Lona Poe.

Donnie is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, just months shy of their 50th wedding anniversary in November, Nancy Poe Cochran; children, Danny and wife, Tara Cochran and Lindsey and husband, Joshua Reece; grandchildren, Ronan Cochran and Owen Reece; siblings, Ann and Clifford Stanley, Charles Cochran, Dale Cochran, and Linda Mae and Randy Burgess; sister-in-law, Katherine Cochran; numerous nieces, nephews, other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended relatives, and dear friends.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Grayson Jones officiating. Music was provided by Jim Stanley. Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery (Mineral Bluff, Georgia). Serving as pallbearers were Banks Eavenson, Holden Eavenson, Randy Burgess, Clifford Stanley, Brian Cochran, and Thomas Delaney. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Ronan Cochran and Owen Reece. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 8, 2025 prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
