Charlene Simonds Allen, age 59, of Blue Ridge passed away Saturday, September 26, 2025 at Northside Hospital in Canton, GA. She was born on September 8, 1966 in Copperhill, TN to the late Charlie Simonds and the late Rebecca Elizabeth Deal Simonds. Charlene graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan College in 1997 earning her Bachelors Degree. Charlene was very proud of her education and work accomplishments and was employed by Life Care Center of America in Cleveland, TN where she was the director of medicare claims and compliance. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Epworth, GA and was a dedicated wife, mother and gemma. Some of her favorite hobbies included reading and taking family trips to the beach.

Along with her parents, Charlene is preceded in death by her siblings, Mike Deal, Eddie Dills, and Stanley "Mus" Dills; nephews, Joseph Dills and Little Charlie Deal; and great niece, Eiron Welch.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Jeff Allen; children, Greg (Holly) Allen and Victoria (Clay) McClure; grandchildren, Iris Allen, Charlie Allen, and Price McClure; siblings, Angela (Jeff) Dills, Susie Payne, and Carolyn (Marcus) Ponton; mother-in-law and father-in-law, George and Carolyn Sue Allen; best friend of 55 years, Rhonda Hunt; and many other nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Akins-Cobb in Blue Ridge with Rev. Chris Clark and Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Interment followed the service at Chastain Memorial Park with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Nathan Long, Evan Long, Jeff Dooley, Patrick Welch, Matthew Ponton, and Mike McClure. Honorary pallbearers included Wayne Stover, Sam Parris, Jordan Ledford, and Jason Thurman. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, September 30, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
