The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces funeral services for Donald L. Newman, age 78, of Decatur, GA who died Monday, November 22, 2010. Mr. Newman was a University of Georgia graduate and served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of fifty three years, Jean Newman; sons, Jim Newman and Tom Newman; daughter, Cindy Newman; grandchildren, Christina, Lindsey, Olivia, Alex, Ryan, Tommy and Jason; great-grandchildren, Angelina, Jasmine and Ava; sister-in-law, Dell Brooks of McCaysville, GA.Funeral services will be held at North Decatur United Methodist Church at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 24th with Rev. Lee Fullerton officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at the New Hope United Methodist Church cemetery in Between, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Decatur United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the A.S.
