Mr. Donald Ray Lyle, Sr., age 65, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Monday, December 22, 2008 in the St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Mr. Lyle was born in Union County, GA on December 11, 1943 to Herbert Webb Lyle and Elsie Carrie Lowe Lyle. He was a retired truck driver employed by Eberhardt Grantham Contracting. He was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church and was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Ramona Green, wife, Edna Mae Queen Lyle, and wife, Delice Pickrell Lyle. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Ray Lyle, Jr. and Jeannette of Austell, GA, Donald Clifford Lyle and Derinda of Blue Ridge, GA, and Kenneth Wayne Knox of Greenville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry Ann Penwell and James of Blue Ridge; brother, Herbert W. Lyle, Jr. of Canton, GA; aunts, Mary Ann Jones of Blairsville, GA and Sara Giplin of Lilburn, GA; cousin, Randall Bailey and Peggy of Culberson, NC; 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many cousins. Funeral services were conducted Friday, December 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Roy Clore officiating. Pallbearers were Clifford Lyle, Ray Lyle, Herbert Lyle, Kenneth Knox, Jessie Hallmark, and Nathan Killian. Honorary pallbearer was Randall Bailey. Interment followed in New Liberty Church Cemetery.
