Mitch Prince, age 73, of Murphy, NC, left his earthly body on January 22, 2026, and is in the presence of the Lord. He was born on May 16, 1952 as the son to the late Jake and Emma Prince. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Farish Fowler, and brother-in-law, Lynn Carr.

He served as a deacon at Shoal Creek Baptist Church until his death. He loved his family and his church. He loved playing guitar and singing, riding horses, fishing, the outdoor life, and his pets. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Angie Prince; brothers, Harold (Norma) Prince, and Doug Prince; sisters, Brenda (Mack) Helms, Barbara (Roger) Jenkins, Diane Anderson, Linda Carr, and Freda Prince; his special mother-in-law, Reba Fowler; brothers-in-law, Randy (Angela) Fowler, Jeff (Kristen) Fowler; sisters-in-law, Colleen (Jeff) Hamlin, Diane (Jerry) Breedlove; nephews, David (Heather) Prince, Chad Jenkins, Jeff Jenkins, Russ Anderson, Trevor (Ashley) Beavers, Joshua (Ashlyn) Fowler, Noah Fowler, and Seth Fowler; nieces, Jennifer (Clyde) Comer, April (Allan) Presswood, Andrea (Justin) Harris, and Sierra Hamlin; and many other great nieces, great nephews, and family members.

A Celebration of Life service was conducted on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 2:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Jerry Beavers officiating. Eulogy was provided by Mr. Donnie Morrow. Music was provided by the Ware Family. Pallbearers were Joshua Fowler, Jeff Fowler, Jerry Breedlove, Jeff Hamlin, Darrell Laney, and Ashley Graham. Honorary Pallbearers were Ronnie Ware, Billy Self, Mitchell Loudermilk, Marvin Hawkins, Ed Dills, Daryl Johnson, Chuck Hickey, Charles Brendle, and Kevin Thomas. The family received friends at Akins-Cobb Funerals & Cremations of Copperhill on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
