Mr. Donald Larry "Don" Postell, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022 at Pruitt Healthcare in Blue Ridge after an extended illness. Don was born May 7, 1944 and lived most of his life in the Higdon Community of Fannin County, GA. After working for Lockheed Aircraft, he worked as a copper miner until retirement. Don was a member of Hipps Chapel Church. He was talented at small engine repair. Don enjoyed watching football and playing with his grandchildren.Don was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Lottie Postell; brothers J.D. Postell, Howard Postell, Winford Postell, and Gary Postell.He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn Postell; sons and daughter in laws Timothy and Melissa Postell of McCaysville, GA, Daniel and Kellie Postell of Epworth, GA, grandchildren Matthew, Micah, Abigail, and Gabriella; brothers Charles Postell of Ellijay, GA, Lealon (and Anna Lou) Postell of Epworth, GA, Windell Postell of Blue Ridge, GA, and Ray (and Carolyn) Postell of Ellijay, GA; sister Beulah Watson of Dalton, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the family has elected not to hold visitation. Don will be interred at Hipps Chapel Church Cemetery after a private service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Calvary Chapel Christian School Scholarship fund at 101 George Curtis Rd. Blue Ridge, GA 30513.
