The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces the death of Diana Ruth Volkman, age 55, of Copperhill, TN who passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011. Mrs. Volkman was born in Pontiac, MI and was employed as a CNA . She is survived by her husband, Robert Volkman of Copperhill, TN; children, Michael Carpenter of Copperhill, TN and Brandy Smiddy of Ohio; her mother, Marlene Nix of Copperhill, TN; four grandchildren; one great grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 6th at 2:00 P.M. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Leonard Hunter officiating. Music will be by Michael Carpenter, Sue Stillwell. Pallbearers include Justin Cherry, Kyle Pack, Anthony Bushkill, Kyle Bushkill, Michael Carpenter and Jake Cherry. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Volkman may be made to the Word of God Tabernacle.
