Mrs. Desma Lorraine Grant, age 88, of Ducktown, TN passed away Monday, December 2, 2013. Mrs. Grant was a native of the Polk County area and was a member of the Word of God Tabernacle. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her parents, Dolph and Vernie Horton Swanson, son Teddy Ray Smith, and seven siblings.She is survived by husband, Franklin Grant of Ducktown, TN; son, Lowery Carter of Turtletown, TN; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 5th at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Mike Jarrett officiating.Music will be Pam Ensley and Nathan Ensley. Pallbearers include Bill Carter, Keith Carter, Marvin Hardin, Gary Loudermilk, Isaiah Loudermilk and Joshua Loudermilk. Honorary pallbearers include Rodney Ensley and Mike McCoy. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church cemetery.
