Mr. Dennis Dilbeck, age 59, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Tuesday September 30, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Polk County, TN he was the son of the late Ernest and Marie White Dilbeck. He was a Master Mason of Blue Ridge Lodge #67 F& AM of which he had been a member for twenty five years. Dennis enjoyed bowling on Monday and Thursday nights with the men's and mixed league at Fannin Lanes in Blue Ridge. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and served his country during Vietnam in the United States Marine Corps. He also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping and golfing. Survivors include his wife, Rhonda "Trooper" Dilbeck of the home; sons and daughter-in-laws, Glen and Christina Dilbeck of Blue Ridge, Matthew Dilbeck of Morganton, GA and Andy and Beth Whitener also of Blue Ridge; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Chad Reece of Blue Ridge, GA; brothers, Donnie Dilbeck of Blue Ridge, Junior Dilbeck of Alpharetta, GA, Billy Dilbeck of Blue Ridge, GA and Michael Dilbeck of Morganton, GA; sisters, Kathy Tanner, Doris Flowers, and Lisa Dilbeck all of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, Jacob, Reagan, Sabrina, Jeremiah and Alyssa Dilbeck, Jada Towe, Bailey and Brayden Whitener, and C.J. Reece; and many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday October 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Mann, Rev. Waylon Loving, and Rev. Stanley Ritter officiating. Members of Blue Ridge Lodge #67 F&AM served as pallbearers. The following gentlemen served as honorary pallbearers: Steve Mull, Bob Burns, Carl White, Danny McFarland, and Dennis Gravely. Interment followed in Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery with full military honors provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard and Masonic Rites provided by Blue Ridge Lodge #67 F&AM.
