Dennis Burrell, age 69, of Morganton, GA passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023 at his home. He was born on January 26, 1954, in Young Harris, GA, to the late Willis Burrell SR. and Faye Edwards. Dennis worked for Fitts Contracting for a number of years, served as a paramedic in Towns County, and later retired from the Fannin County Road Department. He was a member of Old Jerusalem Church and the Mineral Bluff Lodge #483 F&AM. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brent Laney; grandson, Scotty Monkus;and brothers, Willis Burrell JR. and T.L. Burrell.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Ware Burrell of the home; daughter, Melissa Monkus (Chris); grandchildren, Paige Monkus, Cheyenne Monkus, Traven Monkus, Nate Anderson, and Kyle Smiley; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 4:00 PM, from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Charles Neal and Rev. Harold Crowder officiating. Interment will follow in the Chastain Memorial Park with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Chris Monkus, Traven Monkus, Nate Anderson, Jeffery Kimbrell, Jack Worthey, and Ronald Ware. Selected to serve as honorary pallbearers are: Kyle Smiley, Dean Ware, Brian Hogan, and Randall Kimbrell. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, November 2, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
