The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces the death of Mr. Dennis Ray Adams, age 67, of Turtletown, TN, who passed way on Saturday, May 16, 2009 in the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. He was born in Polk County, TN, on January 27, 1942 and was the son of the late Clarence and Mildred Hughes Adams. Mr. Adams was a carpenter and of the Holiness Faith. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Homer and Clyde Hughes and Arthur and Lillace Adams.Survivors include, son and daughter-in-law, Dewayne and Donna Adams of Ellijay; GA, brothers and sisters-in-law, Ezell and Marsha Adams of Dalton, GA, Leon and Mary Adams of Dalton, GA, Daniel and Dorothy Adams of Turtletown, TN, Mitchell and Maddie Adams of Turtletown, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Abe Taylor of Turtletown, TN; grandson, Christopher Adams; granddaughter, Whitney Adams; several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel in Copper Hill, TN with Rev. Larry Stover and Pastor Johnny Prater officiating. Music will be by Annette Collins, Mary Jane Trantham and Jennifer Johnson. Pallbearers will be David Adams, Randy Hensley, Rodney Hensley and Robbie Stuart. Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
