The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces funeral services for Debbie Ann Turner, age 48, of Turtletown, TN who passed away Wednesday, December 01, 2010. Debbie was born in Centre, Alabama and was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church. She, along with her husband, operated the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store in Ducktown. She was a Life Volunteer with the American Cancer Society and the Relay For Life. She is survived by her loving husband of twenty nine years, Faron Turner of the home; daughters, Brittney Turner and Fiance' Josh Falls of Turtletown, TN, Bridgett and husband John Dearmond of Sweetwater, TN; three grandchildren, Brianna Dearmond, Brian Dearmond and Marcus Dearmond; her parents, Billy and Barbara Henderson Black of Gaylesville, AL; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Louise Turner of Centre, AL; mother-in - law and father-in-law, Bennie and Joyce Elliott of Gadsen, AL; her faithful and loving canine companion, Tikie; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive.Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 3rd at 11:00 A.M. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Glen Stiles officiating. Music will be by Tammy Howington Smith. Pallbearers include, Kenneth Johnson, Brad Raper, David Savage, Colby Ledford, John Dearmond and Josh Falls. Honorary pallbearers will be Marcus Dearmond and Brian Dearmond. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church cemetery.The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
