Mr. Deaver Simmons Northam, age 78, of Blue Ridge, GA, formerly of Miami, Florida, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 16th, 2008. Mr. Northam was born near Garner, TX on September 30th, 1929. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Army and was a member of the Temple Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by parents Harley and Marie Simmons Northam and a brother Glen Northam.He was survived by his loving wife of 54 years Patricia Burrus Northam, whom he affectionately called "Honey" of Blue Ridge, GA; one son, Bruce Northam of Blue Ridge, GA; four daughters, Donna Wilson of Signal Mountain, TN; Terrie Northam of Blue Ridge, GA; Patti Lenhard of Homasossa Springs, FL; Pamela Maples of Williston, FL; three brothers, Zane Northam of Hawaii, Elmer Northam of Signal Mountain, TN, Delmer Northam of Keystone Heights, Fl; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services were conducted Saturday, April 19th at 12:00 noon from the Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Don Padgett officiating. Music was by Kelly McDonald. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the church cemetery with full military honors conducted by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
