Dawn Kay Burleson, age 59, of McCaysville, Georgia passed away on December 7, 2024 at Northside Hospital in Canton, Georgia. She was born on September 13, 1965 in Akron, Ohio to Ralph Neal Smiley and Minnie Stoner Smiley. She enjoyed working at the Conoco in McCaysville, where she got to serve and visit with many people of the community. Most of all, she cherished her family and the time she spent with them.

Dawn is preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Stoner Smiley; and husband, Thomas Nevelle Burleson.

She is survived by her partner, CJ Griffin; children, Theresa Karry (Matthew), Kimberly Baeumel (Allen), Brandi Smiley, and Brandon Reisen (Jackie); grandchildren, Draven Reisen, Arya Reisen, Keira Baeumel, Allie Baeumel, Kyle Smiley, Lena Thomas, Autumn Karry, Summer Karry, Anyanka Burleson, Theodore Karry, and Ollyver Nix; father, Ralph Neal Smiley; siblings, Cindy Bunn, Heather Bates, Bruce Smiley, and Christopher Stoner; and many other siblings, family members, and dear friends.

The family requests that memorial donations in honor of Mrs. Burleson be made to help defray final expenses.
