Mr. David Arnold White, age 61, of Damascus Circle, Blue Ridge, GA passed away Wednesday, November 02, 2011 at his home. Mr. White was born in Polk County, TN on January 16, 1950 to the late Rufus White and Priscilla Joyce White. He worked as a spreader for Levis Strauss. He was a member of Damascus Baptist Church. Mr. White enjoyed fishing and gardening, was known as a good friend to many people, and answered the call of service for his country in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth McVey White; and a sister, Betty Ann Weaver. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah Beth Miller and Bryan Miller of Acworth, GA; brother-in-law, Ted Weaver of Blue Ridge; sisters-in-law, Genise Haney and Ruth Ann Shirley; grandchild, Audrey Miller; and special friends and caregivers, Phyllis Liner of Cleveland, TN, Trish Coffey, Trish Bailes, and Eloise Newton. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 4, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Billy Ray Queen, Rev. Danny Collis, and Rev. Mitchell Taylor officiating. Music will be by The Barker Brothers, and Mike Weaver. Pallbearers will be Eugene White, Nathan Chancey, Andy Newberry, Matt Weaver, Jeremy Barker, and Jonathan Barker. Honorary pallbearers will be Markie Taylor, Mitchell Taylor, and the Men of Damascus Church. Interment will follow in Damascus Church Cemetery.
