Mr. David Samuel Sisson, age 70, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at his home. Mr. Sisson was born on May 11, 1941 in Polk County, TN to the late Dallis David Sisson and Hazel Druilla Bennett Sisson. He attended Young Harris College in 1963 and became a Mason in 1964. Mr. Sisson held a variety of jobs and owned several businesses in his working career including: 1959-1965, worked as a Hoover Motor Express clerk; 1965-1971, worked as a rider dispatcher; 1972, owned and operated the Fountain Drive-Inn; 1973, ran a produce route; 1977, owned and operated the Star Lite Skating Rink; 1979-1985, owned and operated The Trailer Drive-Inn; 1977-1978, owned and operated the Tastee Freez; 1985-1996 worked in construction. Mr. Sisson married Jan Deveraux in 1964 and she preceded him in death on January 29, 1985. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Wells Sisson, who he married on June 30, 1987, of Blue Ridge; sons, Brett Samuel Sisson of Epworth, and David Dallis Sisson of Bear, Delaware; sisters, Brenda Smith of Woodstock and Carol Millholland of Canton, GA; and four grandchildren, David T. Sisson, Logan Sisson, McKinsey Sisson, and Abby Sisson. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Matthew Queen officiating. Music was by Imogene Stewart, Cynthia Mathis, and Kristen Rodeck. Pallbearers were Jason Smith, Logan Sisson, Scott Millholland, Denny Millholland, Kenny Smith, and Kenny McKeon. Honorary pallbearers were Ted Weaver, Bill Queen, Charles Edwards, John Penland, Lloyd Millholland, Jerry Smith, Max Green, and Jack Driskill. Interment followed in Copper Ridge Memory Garden.
