David Franklin Foster, age 61, of Mineral Bluff passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021. David was born in Chattanooga, TN on April 26, 1960 to the late Clarence Jack Foster and Mary Flowers Foster. He was a craftsman and also loved working on cars and hotrods. David was a member of McCay Lodge #423 F&AM. David enjoyed making all kinds of crafts including knapping arrowheads and creating dream catchers. He was a man that loved good, strong coffee, cooking and babysitting his grandchildren. He enjoyed making casseroles and canning different varieties of vegetables- his favorite being hot peppers. Along with his parents, he is proceeded in death by his brother, Ricky Foster. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Gayla Foster of the home; children, Chris (Robin) Foster of McCaysville, Eric (Crystal) Foster of Blue Ridge, Josh (Brittany) Patterson of Mineral Bluff, Rebekah (Jimmy) Loudermilk of Watkinsville, Sarah (Patrick) Smith of Denver, Christine Foster of Mineral Bluff, Bethany (Daniel Kaylor) Patterson of Blue Ridge, Joshua (Andrea) Foster of Mineral Bluff, Joseph (Jessica) Foster of Mineral Bluff, and Seth Foster of Mineral Bluff; grandchildren, Enola Patterson, Evander Patterson, Selah Patterson, Soren Patterson, June Loudermilk, Cailey Beavers, Malia Smith, Lakota Foster, and Jasper Foster; brothers, Daniel (Lisa) Foster of Decatur, and Jimmy (Crystal) Foster of Jackson. He also leaves behind a host of other family members and friends. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge. Mr. Ron Wallace provided a eulogy. Interment was followed the service at Mobile Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites provided by McCay Lodge #423 and the following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Eric Foster, Josh Foster, Joseph Foster, Seth Foster, Daniel Kaylor, and Johnny Stiles. Honorary pallbearers included Daniel Foster, Jimmy Foster, Tim Foster, and Chris Foster. Visitation was held prior to the service on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
