Mr. David Lee Davenport, age 72, of Sweetwater, Tennessee passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023. He was born on December 6, 1950 in Ellijay, Georgia to the late Cloys William Davenport and Maxine Lovett Davenport. David worked in the construction industry for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars, attending car shows, and woodworking. He was known for being able to fix anything. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Davenport; and nephew, Brian Davenport.

He is survived by his sisters, Linda (Rocky) Ballew of Cleveland, Tn and Wanda (Michael) Willis of Rocky face, Ga; half-brother, Sterling Smith (Sheila) of Daytona Beach, Fl; nieces and nephews, Christy Peden, Michael Lee Boggess, Robert Brown Jr., Mitzi Brown, and Buddy Davenport; several great nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends also survive.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Andy Sibley officiating. Music was provided by Anthony Dunbar. Interment followed in the Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Bobby Brown, Michael Lee Boggess, Michael Peden, Caleb Peden, Luke Peden, and Buddy Davenport.
