David Blackwell, age 71 of Madisonville, TN formally of Copperhill, TN passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020 at his home. He was born on November 5, 1948 in Copperhill, TN. David graduated from Copper Basin High School (1966), Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science (1976) and National School of Mortuary Management. He was a member of the Academy of Graduate of Embalmers of Georgia and a member of the Funeral Directors Association. David was a retired funeral director. He was a member of 411 Chapel Baptist Church in Madisonville, TN. David enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved reading, stamp collecting and crossword puzzles. David enjoyed spending time on the lake. He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Eugene Blackwell. Survivors are his wife of fifty-one years, Janett Christopher Blackwell of Madisonville, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Chris Blackwell (Beverly) of Signal Mountain, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Traci Hamilton (Chris) of Sweetwater, TN; grandchildren, Hunter Jamerson, Sgt. Brady L. Hamilton, Mackenzie Eschmann, Graham Eschmann and Reilly Eschmann; great-grandchildren, Brantley Jamerson and Jax Jamerson; mother, Geneva Reid McFarland of Cleveland, TN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Reid Blackwell (Sherry) of Turtletown, TN and Jody Blackwell (Margaret) of Salisbury, NC and special nephew, Sgt. Major Command Russell (LaFleur) Blackwell of Fort Sill, OK also survive. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill Chapel with the Rev. Michael McLemore officiating. Eulogy was by Cecil Anderson. Music was by Janice Reid. Pallbearers were Cecil Anderson, Butch Anderson, Jerry Pack and William Wright. Honorary Pallbearers were Mark Cansler, Don Dehart, Clyde Collins and Troy McConkey.
