Mrs. Darrie Beatrice Jordan, age 92, of Epworth, GA passed away Monday, August 11, 2008 in the Life Care Center in Ducktown, TN surrounded by her loving family. Born in Snellville, GA she was the daughter of the late Joe Tom and Etta Mae Puckett Bailey. She was a retired shipping clerk for the Nabisco Company. Mrs. Jordan was a former member of First Baptist Church of Grayson, GA for over forty years and taught the Fidelis Sunday School Class for thirty-four years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Epworth, GA. for over ten years. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Tom and Priscilla Jordan of Mineral Bluff, GA, grandchildren, Christa and husband Jason Webb of Blue Ridge, GA and Jonathan Jordan of Epworth, GA; great grandchildren, Barrett Webb, Evie Webb and Lyla Webb; several nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were conducted Wednesday, August 13, at 5:00 p.m. from the First Baptist Church Epworth, 447 Madola Road, Epworth, GA with Dr. Tom Jordan, Rev. Doug Simonds and Rev. Chan Mitchell officiating. Music was provided by Dr. Tom Jordan, Rev. Doug Simonds, and Frances Queen. The following deacons served as active pallbearers: Bill Rush, James Abernathy, Gary Harper, Kenneth Ross, Frank Daves and Glenn Nicholson. All other Deacons served as honorary pallbearers. The TEL Sunday School Class, Fellowship and Sonrise Sunday School Classes and Employees of the Life Care Center served as an honorary escort. A memorial white dove release concluded the service. Donations in memory of Mrs. Jordan may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or to the Van Fund at P.O. Box 187 Epworth, GA 30541. Funeral services were also conducted from the Tim Stewart Funeral Home Chapel, 2246 Wisteria Drive, Snellville, GA, at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008 with Dr. Tom Jordan, Rev. Doug Simonds, and Rev. Chan Mitchell officiating. Music was by Dr. Tom Jordan and Rev. Doug Simonds. Interment followed in the Historical Snellville Cemetery. Pallbearers were: grandson, Jonathan Jordan, grandson-in-law, Jason Webb, great grandson, Barrett Webb, nephews, Doug McGaha, Roger McGaha and Charles Johnson.
