Daniel Guy, age 61, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away Sunday, October 13 2013 at his home. He was born on January 10, 1952 in Polk County, TN to the late Clyde Guy and Lovella Miller Guy. He worked as a police officer, was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and of Morganton Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Mealer of Mineral Bluff; daughters and son-in-law, Melissa and Michael L. Martin of Clarkesville, GA, Molly Guy and Mirinda Guy, both of Epworth, GA; sisters, Barbara Davis of Jasper, GA and Carolyn Kyle of Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren, Michael James Martin and Maegan Martin; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Cheatham and Rev. Jerry Ramsey officiating. Music will be by Sherry Hicks. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour. Donations in memory of Mr. Guy may be made to the Humane Society.
