The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces the death of Daniel Fulton Gibson, age 63, of Turtletown, TN who passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011. Dan was a native of the Copper Basin area and was a son of the late Taft and Lucy Loudermilk Gibson. He had worked as a carpenter in construction and was a member of the Maple Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by daughters, Karen Gibson and Jennifer Gibson, both of Toledo, Ohio; brother, Cleaston Gibson of Turtletown, TN; sisters, Dorothy Dunn of Rocky Face, GA and Sally Jones of Tunnel Hill, GA; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 22nd at 2:00 P.M. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Renny Whittenbarger officiating. Music will be by Janice Reid. Pallbearers include, Richard West, Rick White, Keith Utley, Dennis Morris, Randy Cole and Billy Ray Gaddis. Honorary pallbearers include Johnny Smith, John Mater, Dave Gardner and Jerry Carter. Interment will follow in the Threewitt Cemetery.
