Daniel Elijah Barnes, 44, of Mineral Bluff, GA, passed away on August 8, 2023. He was born on April 20, 1979, in Perry, GA, to his loving parents, Wyndall Alan Barnes and Patricia Leigh Sanders Barnes. Daniel found joy in life's simple pleasures, including camping, fishing, video gaming, and spending quality time with his family and friends. His appreciation for classical music added a touch of elegance to his vibrant personality.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Martha Barnes, Wm B. Sanders, Jr. and Carolyn Sanders; uncle, David Barnes; and aunt, Debbie Sanders.

Daniel is survived by his parents, Wyndall and Patricia Barnes, his sister and brother in law, Susan and Brent Patterson, and his niece Olivia Patterson. He also leaves behind cherished memories with his uncles, Mike Sanders, Greg Sanders, Jeff Sanders, and Steve Sanders; his aunts, Wanda Tanner and Sandra Linder, as well as numerous cousins, including Angel (Nathan) Chancey, Jessica Linder, Brian McElmurray, Chad Sanders, Kevin Sanders, Tammy Sanders, Todd Sanders, Angela Kesley, Kristina Partner, and Jeffrey and Heather Sanders.

A funeral service to honor Daniel's life was held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Akins-Cobb in Blue Ridge with Dr. Roger Beck officiating. Interment followed at the Crestlawn Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Brent Patterson, Mike Sanders, Jeff Sanders, Steve Sanders, Chad Sanders, Kevin Sanders, Nathan Chancey, and Frank Thomas. Derrick Tanner, Jeff Linder, and David Spiller served as honorary pallbearers.

Daniel's warm smile, love for adventure, and genuine friendships will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
