Dale Edward Carver, age 72, of Ducktown passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Tennova Healthcare in Cleveland, TN. He was born at Kimsey-Guinn Hospital in Ducktown, TN on October 28, 1948 to the late James A. Carver and Jewell Dalton Carver. Dale was a 1967 graduate of Copper Basin High School and attended vocational tech school in Athens, TN for drafting. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971 at which time he received the Purple Heart. Dale worked for the Tennessee Copper Company as a carpenter for 27 years. He was a longtime member of Mine City Baptist Church serving on the building committee for many years. One of the many things he loved about the church was being a part of Doug Dilbeck's Sunday School Class. Dale married his first wife, Judy Tanner Carver, in 1973, and they remained married until her death in 2010. In 2012, Dale married Esta Swain Carver, and they remained together for the past 8 years. He enjoyed traveling, old cars, and a good joke. Dale is preceded in death by his parents, James A. Carver and Jewell Dalton Carver; first wife of 36 years, Judy Tanner Carver; and son, Kevin R. Towl.
Dale is survived by wife of 8 years, Esta Swain Carver; sons, Keith (Debby) Carver, Stacy Towl, Bryson (Bev) Payne, and Ryan (Lory Ann) Payne; brother, Van (Wanda) Carver; grandchildren, Whitney (Bradley) Davis, Maggie Towl, Eli Towl, Josh Towl, Asa Payne, Josiah Payne, Ziva Payne, Hezekiah Payne, Judah Payne, Alex Payne, Max Payne; great-grandchild, Scarlett Davis; daughter-in-law, Tracy Towl, and many cousins.
Graveside services were conducted on Friday, January 22, 2021 from Crestlawn Cemetery with Rev. Charles Hodges officiating. Music was provided by Jodi Dilbeck, Pat Smith, and Ernest Gonzales. Military Honors were provided by the United States Army. Family members served as Pallbearers, and the Hononary Pallbearers were the members of Doug Dilbeck's Sunday School Class at Mine City Baptist Church.
