Corey Lee Hedden, age 42, of Blue Ridge passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023. Corey was born on December 17, 1980 in Copperhill to Tommy and Jannie Hedden. He worked as a carpenter, and in his off time, Corey was an avid fisherman. After playing basketball in his younger days, he enjoyed watching the game throughout his life.

Corey is survived by wife, Katie Hedden; children, Tamrah Hedden and Bella Hedden; step-children, Isabella Nicole Ann O'Shea, Emily Brielle O'Shea, and Bentlee Dane O'Shea; parents, Tommy and Jannie Hedden; and siblings, Vanessa Makowski, Riley Hedden, Mandy Perry, Tommy Mac, Timothy Hedden, and Destiny Barnes.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Chapel of Copperhill with Rev. Jimmy Dickey officiating. Music will be provided by Buffy Chapman, Ivy Chapman, and Mary Kate Dickey. Interment will follow in the Bethany Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers, Tracy Jordan, Ducie Waters, Craig Hendrix, Kenny Szlosek, Chad Allen, Benjamin Perry, and Jacob Kuzawinski. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to help defray final expenses.
