Mrs. Cora Mae Dockery, age 81, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Sunday May 16, 2010. Born in Etowah, TN she was the daughter of the late Grady and Alma Chastain Lackey. She had worked for a number of years at Levi Strauss as a seamstress. Mrs. Dockery was also a longtime member of the Damascus Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by a husband, Gene Oliver Sutton; brother, Scott Lackey; and one sister, Laura Lee Lewis. Survivors include her husband of thirty one years, Lon J. Dockery of the home; sons and daughter-in-laws, Larry Gene and Gail Sutton of Morganton, GA, George Kenneth and Sandra Sutton of Epworth, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Terry Ross of Epworth, GA; step sons and daughter-in-laws, Gerald and Nancy Dockery of Epworth, GA William and Nadine Dockery of McCaysville, GA James and Tiny Dockery of Dial and Jerome and Robin Dockery of Blue Ridge, GA; brother, William Junior Lackey of Copperhill, TN; sister, Gertrude Lackey Dickey of Blue Ridge, GA; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; ten step grandchildren; nineteen step great grandchildren and two step great great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday May 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the Damascus Baptist Church with Rev. Glen Collis officiating. Music was provided by the Damascus Church Choir and Bobby Dan Chastain. Interment followed in the Damascus Church Cemetery with Rev. Danny Collis officiating. Pallbearers were Kevin Sutton, Nathan Sutton, Billy Dockery, Kevin Dockery, Eric Lackey, and Sam Lewis. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
